KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai is ready to explain to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak the current situation in the party.
"If the prime minister wants to see us, we are willing to explain our side of the story.
"(As) I have mentioned it before, I am ever willing to explain the situation in the party to our beloved prime minister as the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman.
"He is very concerned about our party, we hope through our explanation, he can understand better, our situation," he told reporters after launching a nationwide anti-Aedes campaign here on Saturday.
Liow said he would appreciate the prime minister's views in helping to resolve the party's internal rift.
Yesterday, Datuk Tan Kah Choun, the spokesman for MCA's 'third force', called on Najib to help resolve the party's leadership crisis and put the MCA back on track.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also BN deputy chairman, said the BN top leadership, including Najib and he, were ready to assist if the majority of the MCA central committee (CC) members agreed.
Liow declined to say if he supported tomorrow's dialogue with grassroots leaders from 191 divisions organised by party deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek tommorrow.
"My party matters, we will find a suitable solution," he replied.
Although party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and Dr Chua had put aside their differences to support a 'Greater Unity Plan', a group of 16 CC members is organising an extraordinary general meeting on Nov 28, with the aim of seeking fresh party elections.
